In the past year the monthly price has moved between $89.40 and $89.40.
Measured over the past year, praseodymium is +32.1%.
Praseodymium (Pr) almost always travels with neodymium: the two are separated together as NdPr and alloyed into neodymium-iron-boron magnets for electric vehicles, wind turbines and electronics, where praseodymium can stand in for part of the neodymium. On its own it colours glass and ceramics a vivid yellow.
Praseodymium follows neodymium closely, as the two are separated together and used as NdPr in permanent magnets. Supply is mined in several countries but separated mainly in China, so demand from electric vehicles and wind meets a supply chain shaped by Chinese quotas and export policy.
Praseodymium has tracked neodymium closely, through the 2011 bubble, the 2021 and 2022 rally and the slump that followed. Chinese export controls and support for Western producers have since created separate price levels inside and outside China.
As of October 2026, the Stockatomics benchmark price is $89.40 per kg contained.
Praseodymium is mined and separated with neodymium, mainly in China, with concentrate also produced in the United States, Australia and Myanmar.
Praseodymium is on the US critical minerals list, and the light rare earths are on the EU critical raw materials list. Permanent magnets depend on it, and separation is concentrated in China.
Stockatomics publishes a US benchmark price for praseodymium in US dollars per kg contained, reading as of October 2026. The price is quoted per kg of oxide, not for a finished magnet. Praseodymium is often traded together with neodymium as NdPr oxide.

Mainly neodymium-iron-boron magnets, where it is used alongside neodymium, plus yellow colouring for glass and ceramics.
A mixture of neodymium and praseodymium, separated together and sold as the feedstock for permanent magnets.
Mostly in China, with concentrate also mined in the United States, Australia and Myanmar.
