Nexa Resources is one of the largest zinc producers in Latin America, controlled by Brazil's Votorantim group and headquartered in Luxembourg. It mines zinc, lead and copper in Peru and Brazil, and runs its own smelters in both countries, recovering silver along the way.
Zinc is Nexa Resources' main critical mineral, mined at Cerro Lindo and its other operations in Peru as well as at Vazante and Aripuanã in Brazil. Its mines also produce copper, lead and silver as by-products, and its smelters in Peru and Brazil turn concentrate into refined zinc, mostly for galvanising steel.
Nexa Resources' mines are Cerro Lindo, Cerro Pasco and El Porvenir in Peru, and Vazante and Aripuanã in Brazil. Its smelters are Cajamarquilla near Lima, along with Três Marias and Juiz de Fora in Minas Gerais, Brazil.
