Barrick Mining, known until 2025 as Barrick Gold, is one of the world's largest gold miners and changed its name to reflect a growing copper business. Headquartered in Toronto, it runs mines across the Americas, Africa and the Middle East, and its copper pipeline includes the large Reko Diq project in Pakistan.
Barrick Mining is linked to copper, which it produces at Lumwana in Zambia and at Jabal Sayid in Saudi Arabia, the latter in partnership with Ma'aden. Gold still makes up most of its output, yet the company sees copper as its main growth metal, which is why the Reko Diq project in Pakistan and a major expansion at Lumwana sit at the heart of its plans.
Gold mines in Nevada, the Dominican Republic, Tanzania and Papua New Guinea, among others, form the bulk of Barrick Mining's business. Copper comes from Lumwana in Zambia's North-Western Province and Jabal Sayid in Saudi Arabia, while Reko Diq in Balochistan, Pakistan, is being developed as one of the world's largest undeveloped copper-gold deposits.
